Mr. Safiullah Delawar is a public policy, diplomacy, and nonprofit executive with over fifteen years of experience in international diplomacy, government relations, and legal and humanitarian program management. Prior to 2021, he served as a career diplomat with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, including as Foreign Policy Coordinator in the Office of the Deputy Minister for Political Affairs, with postings at the Embassy of Afghanistan in New Delhi and as Economic Counselor and Consul at the Embassy of Afghanistan in Washington, D.C. Since relocating to the United States, he has held executive roles with leading nonprofit organizations, including Program Director at the Afghan American Foundation and, currently, Legal Director at REACT DC, where he leads legal assistance and community empowerment programs for immigrants and refugees. He holds master’s degrees in International Relations from Kabul University and Political Science from Indira Gandhi National Open University, and is fluent in Dari, Pashto, English, and Urdu.
