Dr. Mohammad Shah Omid, member of PEN AF's Board of Directors and a university professor, has co-authored with four colleagues a research article accepted for publication in the IEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society (OJ-COMS), a Q1 journal of the IEEE Communications Society indexed in Scopus and Web of Science (ESCI).
The article, "Real-Time Network Traffic Classification with Learned Feature Imputation and SDN-Based Automated Response," presents an end-to-end system that detects malicious network traffic in real time and responds automatically, achieving 99.74% accuracy in distinguishing malicious from normal traffic. Its publication shows that Afghan expertise in science and technology continues to make its mark at the highest international levels.
